Planning- With Halloween, Thanksgiving, J's Birthday and Christmas all in the following 3 months I will spend this month planning, preparing and making costumes, meals and gifts. I hope to have half of my Christmas shopping done by the end of the month.
And here's the update...
Thanksgiving: I've been checking the flyers but am holding out 1 more week before buying everything we'll need for Thanksgiving dinner. Dinner will be low key as (hopefully) they'll be a newborn in the house!
Halloween: After looking at the calendar I realized that Halloween is on a Sunday this year which means we won't be celebrating it in the traditional way. We will attend a trunk or treat and family dance/activity the Saturday before instead. I found a local pumpkin patch and we plan to make a trip to pick up 2 or 3 within the next 2 weeks. J asked to be a dragon for Halloween so I've bought the pattern and fabric and started making him one. T will wear J's Tigger costume from last year. We won't be giving out candy this year but will probably buy a few bags for us adults to enjoy that night =o)
J's birthday- We have collected all the gifts J will receive and they're ready to be wrapped. His cake will be something from Bob the Builder but I haven't decided exactly what it will look like yet. We'll have a family dinner for him and most likely take him somewhere like Chuck E Cheese for some fun running around time.
Christmas- I've gotten over 50% of the gifts/stocking stuffers and plan to wrap them this week. I will be making 1 gift for each of the boys which I have an idea for but haven't started on yet. The boys have helped me make a few gifts from them which I'll post more on at a later date. N is in charge of Christmas dinner this year as he'll be making it Fijian style. I'm still working on a list of crafts/treats that I plan to make and will post updates on those as I finish them. We'll be having a quiet Christmas at home just enjoying each other's company.
Overall, I'd say September's goal has been accomplished! So now on to October, a month I've been looking forward to! The goal/theme was:
myself. As the temperature dips and the days grow shorter my skin always takes a major hit and with it goes a bit of my feeling pretty . So I will spend this month taking care of my skin, spending time on myself through small things like painting my nails, keeping my eyebrows tidy (!) and moisturizing, moisturizing, moisturizing!
I'm planning on doing at least 1 thing a week for myself: buy a new nail polish, have a bubble bath, invest in a good facial moisturizer with SPF (anyone have any suggestions?), and finally splurge on a yummy healthy meal. It's going to be a good month =o)
