Kalua pork is a dish that reminds me of good memories from when we lived in Hawaii so when I came across a pork shoulder for $0.99 a pound I knew it was time to try making some. I put the pork in the slower cooker and sprinkled it with liquid smoke and kosher salt. Then, I cooked it until it was falling off the bone. It wasn't really a traditional meal- we ate it with rice, yams and asparagus but boy was it YUMMY! And for less than $7 it provided us with 3 dinners and 1 lunch meal.
