diy pom-poms

Have you noticed a trend going on here lately? Lots of DIY projects as we get ready for baby and here's another one!

I wanted to add something to the ceiling above the bassinet and change table and at first bought some lanterns similar to this one...
But it didn't quite look how I wanted it and I knew I could come up with something cheaper then $12 for 3 of them. I decided to go with tissue paper pom-poms thinking that if this baby is a girl it will give a more feminine touch to the room and if this baby is a boy then it's something feminine for me to enjoy!

You can buy pre-made kits in a number of places online but I decided to follow Martha Stewart's tutorial found here to make my own.

I picked up 3 packs of tissue paper with 9 sheets in each and some floral wire which I have lots left for just under $5.

I made one pom-pom with 9 sheets and 2 with 8 sheets...
I like how it turned out- simple, cheap and feminine!
