Baby's First Farm by Hinkler Design Studio is a simple board book with pictures of baby farm animals and other items found on the farm. It has one word on each page and lots of bright colours. A LOVED this book and spent a good 10 minutes looking at it on his own after I had read it to him.
Counting Sheep by Dr. Julie Glass is neat book about counting animals to fall asleep. It has very simple sentences but the neat thing about it is that it explores counting by numbers other than one; such as 2, 3, and 4. It's a great way to learn some early math skills while listening to a good story.
